Only ever use a wipe designated for wiping lenses. But NEVER overuse even a designated wipe. They will remove the lens coating that is for anti flare as well as assisting the transmission of light. A friend of mine used to wipe a lens he used all the time, and in 3 years the coating was gone. This was a Sigma lens. He returned it to Sigma who kindly offered to sell him a new lens with a huge discount or they could replace the front element (for a fee). I carry wipes with me but almost never use them. I use a puffer/blower now and again but unless the lens has a fingerprint or grease mark on it then try to avoid wiping.

Very good point. I use the Zeiss and Nikon wipes for my eyeglasses.

I use the Zeiss Optical Wipes. I find that after initial wipe (with moist wipe) I let the wipe dry slightly and finish up with a light wipe and no streaks visible. I like the fact that the wipe is not too dry. Prior to wipe I use a soft brush to knock off any dust.
I use the Zeiss Optical Wipes as well; haven't had any problems with them.
Zeiss or Bausch & Lomb wipes, whatever Walmart has at the moment.
The last few years I've been using the lens cleaning kits available at many dollar stores. They are okay, no issues. From my experience, just as good as the more expensive name brand stuff I used to buy.
Wait, what? You mean the Nikon and Zeiss wipes are FOR LENSES????
Man, have I been using them wrong...
(Just kidding)
