Hi all,
Although my DNA says I'm 19% Irish, I don't know a lot about my Irish history in mother land. Other than, when they fled Ireland to escape the British strong hold and the Catholic religion, they brought with them diverse knowledge and strong will to succeed, that ultimately helped build America.
With that, I only have a few that may qualify as "Wearin O the Green".
p.1 Nice wearables, Sunny. I am wondering if #2 is a "cockade." Saw that word used in one description and looked it up: a cockade is a knot of ribbons, or other circular- or oval-shaped symbol of distinctive colours which is usually worn on a hat. Sometimes they were pinned to lapels or a woman might wear them in her hair; different colors stood for different causes. Glad you posted that. Only Irish in our family is all on husband's side and a shamrock creamer and sugar bowl for "tea".
