This is terrible news. I never met Gregory, but I enjoyed his work very much. RIP my friend.

It is with a very sad heart that I read today on the Hog of the passing of Gregory. He was a dedicated birder who operated out of the Everglades and was an inspiration to me for the several years that I knew him. He was always willing to meet and take out a fellow birder to show his favorite spots. His work was simply superlative! RIP my friend, you will always be in my heart.

I typed Gregory45 into the UHH User List and came up empty. I wanted to learn more about him and view his work. What other key words should I be using ? Thanks for any help.

What REALLY sad news. My wife Paula and I had just spent the day on February 25 in Big Cypress Swamp with Greg. Afterwards we had a nice lunch together at Joanie's. He was a very nice man, RIP Gregory.

This could very will be the last photo taken of Gregory. It was taken after a shoot with him in Big Cypress Swamp on February 25th with my wife, Paula and me. The photo was taken by Paula with an iPhone X outside of Joanieā€™s Cafe on the Tamiami Trail. It was sush a WONDERFUL day spent with a nice man
and great photographer.

I sent Greg a PM wednesday, March 7th telling him to hang in there and hoped tomorrow would be berter and the next day even better still, and hadn't heard back so on Friday March 9th at 9:06 AM sent another PM message with three images, a White Egret, a Great Blue Hering, and a Barred Owl telling him to "hurry back because they missed him" and really wished that he could have viewed it.

Sad Corky. I got a chuckle thinking about your Great Blue Hering image though. Gregory would have enjoyed those.

Sad news, Gregory was always kind to everyone. A very knowledgeable person too. I enjoyed his presence here on UHH. Seems like we are losing so many folks. Thanks Greg for just being you and sharing with us. We will miss you.

Did not have the privilege of meeting Gregory but had corresponded with him via PM. He was very generous with his advice and recommendations and they made my trip so much more enjoyable. Would have loved to have met him in person but, alas, that is not to be. RIP Gregory.

When I visited Gregory five or six weeks ago, he was living close to the pond across the street from the entrance to Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park. He shared several pics that he had reproduced on canvas, both large and small, that he occasionally sold. As we toured some of his favorite spots, he shared local and state history, ecology and of course his wildlife knowledge. He seemed to be a wise and thoughtful man from another and more gentle time...
