If you don't get it soon after try Best Buy. Surprisingly I have gotten cameras from them when the "big 2" were backlogged.

Would B & H let me cancel without penalty if it didn’t ship yet?

Since you can return items without penalty I can't imagine that there would be a penalty to cancel a preorder especially with a new item that many are waiting for. But you would have to ask them to know for sure.

I preordered a Fujifilm camera from B & H Photo.
Their site says: Expected availability: Wed Mar 20.
When do you think I should receive it?

Sometime from March 20 to March 30. Sometimes it takes a while once they actually get the camera. And remember, that's expected availability, not assured availability. A lot of things can happen between now and March 20.
I would call them on March 20, and wait until the prompt for "questions about your order" and have your order number handy so they can look it up for you.

Did you specify UPS? They do give you that option, or, perhaps, some areas of the country they still ship via UPS. Here in the Northeast everything seems to be going by FedEx.

BTW, you are a bit farther from the B&H warehouse then you may think. They closed both Brooklyn warehouses and consolidated everything in Florence, NJ. I don't think they ship anything except possibly used gear from their Manhattan store. My orders still come overnight so I imagine yours will also.

I am sure in the case of the OP he can either return or cancel the order. However, I bought something from B&H in January and it's not cancelable because they don't normally stock it.
