Popular Photography Magazine went under not too long ago. I then decided to Subscribe to a long subscription to Shutterbug Magazine. They went under too. However, I had to contact them, and ask why I was no longer getting my magazines. I was told they went under too, but the remaining issues would be replaced with Outdoor Photographer Magazine. It was done. My subscription has expired, and I received a renewal notice for a 12 month extension for only $14.97. That's an offer I can't refuse. The magazine has a lot of ads, which I don't mind, and some interesting articles. The magazine is not a thick one, as most magazines are not today. This renewal offer, may be offered to those who did not have a previous subscription. If interested.

Their website offers the magazine for $15.97 annually, so not much difference. I enjoyed their two annual b&w issues very much, but did not renew because, as you mention, there are just way too many ads. And I don't care much about gear

That's pretty close. Only $1. Thanks. Perhaps others are interested.

Did they actually "go under" or just change to on-line only (no print)?

After reading your thread, I decided to investigate to see if you were correct. You were correct. I was never informed of that. I still will renew the Outdoor Photographer magazine. Price is right. https://petapixel.com/2018/05/22/shutterbug-kills-print-magazine-goes-web-only-after-45-years/

Yeah, I get 2 issues every month, Pop photo and shutterbug, each replaced it with Outdoor magazine, so I've been getting two now every month for about the last year or so!

Looks like Outdoor Photographer, has come to the rescue of two print magazine publications. I may take up the website subscription of the Shutterbug. I thought they folded up completely. You're getting two per month. I wouldn't be surprised if Outdoor Photographer doesn't go all digital. Even local newspapers, are going mostly digital now.

If it's still going on, you can probably have them extend one subscription instead of getting 2 of the same.

I just picked up a copy of a British Magazine, Outdoor Photography, which had some stunning content. But print edition is very pricey; on-line only not too bad.

Both are available on Amazon, but the Kindle version is only available for a limited number of readers.

I never heard of that magazine. But, I've heard of Photo Plus/Canon, and N-Photo/Nikon. Which are pricey. The subscriptions are priced in British Pounds. I've never read a British photography magazine, or website. I'll read the link you posted. One that would interest me, would be the N-Photo/Nikon, since I'm a Nikon DSLR owner. But, that British magazine is a little pricey for me.

I have my subscription to Outdoor Photographer as an e-zine on my Nook from Barnes & Noble paper subscription is $10.98 and that is 11 issues per year. E-zine is $1.36 an issue either yearly or monthly subscription. Or if you only find things you want to read in a couple of issues per year the e-zine is $5.99 for a single issue.
the e-zine cuts out a lot of the pages of ads so you end up with fewer pages but more of it is photos and article. On issue I was just browsing had only 62 pages including the front and back cover.

The edition I ended up buying requires the Pocketmags App to run on my Windows 10 laptop. The app is free, but the issues are about $4 each. Still a lot less that the $13 newsstand price.

Interesting alternative options. When I first saw Popular Photography and Shutterbug magazines, they were thicker than today's issues. However, both are history now, in print magazine. Social media has a lot to do with that. Outdoor Photographer on E-zine is something I didn't know about. Thanks for the information.

I had subscriptions to several photo mags, but as they went out of business, I realized that I didn't need them. Everything is available online.
