There are a ton right here on UHH that I never fail to look at, if I see their name. On Instagram, by far, not to be missed is “jasonmpeterson”

Love this one! Thanks.

There are at least two ways to learn.
1. Trial and error.
2. Advise from a trusted adviser.

If you are going to try sky diving, I suggest the second. :)

1. Diane Arbus (to see how she interacted with her subjects, whom she was photographing because they stood out)
2. Robert Frank (later in his career, long after The Americans, to try to see how closely his art mirrored his life)
3. Sylvia Plachy (I would love to see how she works with self-portraits and how she thinks they relate to portraits of others)
3. Alfred Stieglitz (just because)

Nice selection, however, Sylvia Plachy I especially enjoyed.

Some names mentioned on this survey are members of this forum. And I have benefited from their advice and opinions as a hobbyist. And I have benefited from other pro photographers, from articles written about photography, and You Tube videos. Ansell Adams, no doubt was a great photographer. No one could fill his shoes, in his style and category of photography. While some are excellent at what we do. There is usually one category, perhaps another, that photographers are the very best in doing. Respects to them all.

I agree with all the photographers that have been listed by my fellow contributors. So many great mentors, both local and international. And fortunately quite a few UHH'ers are on this list. Here are three more that I'm following, and would like to really follow; L. A. Shooter, Infinite ISO and Timmers.

In random order, my long list would include: Anne Geddes, Annie Liebowitz, Brooke Shaden, Sue Bryce, Joel Grimes, Meg Bitton, Anna Brandt, David Bailey, Jerry Ghionis, Sarolta Ban, Scott Kelby, Scott Robert Lim, Greg Heisler, Bambi Cantrell, Roberto Valenzuela, Kelly Robitaille, Sal Cincotta, Joe Buissink, Susan Stripling...and the list goes on. It would be nearly impossible to pick just one.

Ansel Adams
