Taking advantage of some unseasonably warm weather, Lucy finds the perfect spot in our rather cluttered conservatory to do a bit of sunbathing. We'll worry about the walk later. Taken from my armchair, this is lazy photography for sure, but the clutter and her serenity appealed. Does it make anything other than a snapshot? Your opinion, critique, comments welcome and appreciated.
Nice pic, but crop much tighter on her head.
An excellent jumble of things to see. At first thought that the window frame should be cropped out, but that and other 'brightnesses' track the light quite nicely down to Lucy.
Ya done good.
I love it! The light and clarity are super-duper, the colors and forms interesting. It's unique and eye-catching and made me smile.
Just missing my hour to edit previous comment, I have another thought: much of the success is because the image is so cluttered. One or two items would be distracting. Also the composition - her dozing face centered, surrounded on all sides - just so darned charming.

Hmm, it would work but the clutter is part of the point Griff, for me. Many thanks for commenting.

I knew the subject matter would be OK with you Linda - glad you like the clutter too. It was part of the attraction for me.
It is your picture, but what is it of, the dog, or the clutter?
I feel cropping tight does more justice to the dog, whilst still showing the cosy proximity of the spinning-wheel and the chair.
But each to their own!

For me, it’s the dog IN the clutter - despite it even. She has taken the trouble to get round the clutter and onto her favourite settee in the warm sunshine. For me it shows all that. I don’t ‘defend’ the composition as such - we all have our particular preferences and I’m grateful for you sharing yours. That’s what FYC is about. Often the opinions that people leave will change my viewpoint, but not in this case. That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate your opinion though, I’m always grateful that people take the time to consider what I post.
I like it. The clutter is good especially the battered chair vying with the pristine spinning wheel. If she had been awake I would imagine it would have looked more posed and to me that would have been a snapshot.

Thanks Bigal, I agree with your assessment. Much appreciated.

That is soooooo cool!
Thanks Matt - she was thinking it’s soooooo warm!
The clutter for me makes the shot. Without all clutter their would be no framing of the star os the shot. It would just be a picture of your pooch. Among all the items in the shot is a very serene dog. Maybe dreaming of that walk you mentioned but only under ideal weather conditions.
