iPhones are making it very easy to always have your camera with you.

They are taking a toll on camera companies!!
Pulitzer Prize-winning Photographer David Hume Kennerly has put out a great book of a self assignment he came up with a few years ago where he made a bunch of really great photos with his IPhone. It's titled
"David Hume Kennerly On the iPhone: Secrets and Tips from a Pulitzer Prize-winning Photographer" and it's worth the time to get a copy and take a look if you are at all interested in seeing just what you can do with a camera in your cellphone.
Daughter #1 went to Hawaii for a DVM conference and the Missus tagged along.
They both shot up the place with iPhones and I can easily fill a 90 photo 8x10 album with outstanding photos from each of them. And the Missus is, for all intents and purposes, a complete newbie in photography.

I used to think cell phones were okay for snapshots, but not much else. My son-in-law was telling me about Island Beach State Park and suggested I visit it. He emailed me some pictures taken with his iPhone X, and I couldn't believe they came from a cell phone! The attached image had minor adjustments in Photoshop and easily printed at 18x12. Double download for better detail.
I was flat out wrong - these newer phones can definitely produce print worthy images.
Bill, this photo is great and the sharpness in a DDL is amazing.

I agree the cell phone cameras are pretty amazing...
But when you get a phone call , or text, in the middle of a shot, (I have)...
You MUST deal with it before finishing the shot...
Even to ignore it you have to "ignore", or "touch red X" to clear your screen...
My DSLR has never done that one...
And when you want to "disconnect" from the universe,
for even an hour or two...
But if it's the only camera you have with you? then...

The cell phone's capacity to take pictures is a force to be reckoned with. Camera sales are starting to indicate they are having an impact. For others, their feet are getting wet and fail to realize the boat is taking on water.
Well, it’s a very good photo.
The camera is irrelevant in this case.
There is a limit to what a phone camera can do. Without attached gadgets these cameras are rudimentary. But this photo is well done, and without pixel peeping, is very good
Thanks for sharing
And there is the oft-repeated advice that the best camera to use for a shot is the one you have with you.
