iPhone X Image Attached - Eye Opener For Me
I used to think cell phones were okay for snapshots, but not much else. My son-in-law was telling me about Island Beach State Park and suggested I visit it. He emailed me some pictures taken with his iPhone X, and I couldn't believe they came from a cell phone! The attached image had minor adjustments in Photoshop and easily printed at 18x12. Double download for better detail.
I was flat out wrong - these newer phones can definitely produce print worthy images.
I agree. Still not as versatile as a DSLR, but I am also amazed at the image quality these little cameras can produce. And the nice thing is you can use your camera to make phone calls or send a text too!
Very nice. Cell phone cameras are perfect for capturing a shot when you don't have your big, heavy DSLR, but if you want better quality, the "real" camera will deliver. Don't get me wrong. I'm not knocking the cell phone. That's fine for taking pictures, but if you want top quality, a camera will produce better results.
IBSP is, in my opinion, the best beach at the Jersey shore.
Beautiful. The X phone is a good backup camera when traveling with a heavy dslr kit.
Beautiful capture indeed, Bill...my Samsung S9 takes marvelous photo also; we live in a great time for tech!
Superb picture. i am sure you can get a great print
That said, if you zoom in to crop, you will see it pixelate pretty quickly.I get dozens of pictures from my daughter from her phone. Since she is not to careful about getting closer or being careful of background stuff I want to crop out, I often have to be real careful not to crop too much avoiding a poor resolution print.
I have the same issue with point and shoot cameras, ever 29 mp cameras. The cannot compete with my 30 mp DSLR with the best lens for the situation.
But for every day pictures, spur of the moment, phone picturesare really great.
Agree, I lived in the area for years, IBSP is great when not crowded.

I was flat out wring too, but after enlarging a cell phone shot to 20” by 30”; I changed my mind.
Cell phones are real cameras capable of great, enlargeable, printable images.
AND, they are less intimidating

Great shot. And I agree on the versatility aspect though. I find them harder to use as opposed to a DSLR.
Phones are getting much better in their image quality.
I love the fact that when doing panos on mine, it will tell me up/down as I pan, and not take the next sequence image until the alignment is correct.
Great shot,my son took some photos of his dog the other day with his phone and they where great but I still enjoy it more with my Sony cameras.

Indeed!
My son has sent me photos taken with his Samsung S9 of some of the scenes around the NH seacoast that he enjoyed. I took them and processed them in Lightroom (very little) and had them printed on metal. Simply awesome. also a friend sent me a photo of a sunrise in Nantucket over the Great Point Light with his Samsung S9+. Once again a little PP in Lightroom and off to the printer on metal. Could win an award at a photo show... I have taken a few with my own. But for most everything else I use my DSLR with the proper lens for what I want to achieve.

Yep .. I took this shot yesterday 6am ish at the Honolulu Airport from the 1st floor looking up towards the sunrise between the buildings ... set the Note 8 cell to “PRO” mode ..ISO 64 ..F 1/2000 .. WB 5300 ..
I use a Samsung note as it blows the doors off my IPhone ..., It certainly doesn’t replace my D850 by a
Looooooooooong Shot ,,,. But it is always with me to capture unexpected events ...
