Yes, I know! I used to live on Long Island - same situation. Fortunately, we have an excellent place one mile from my house. I'm just looking for a quick, cheap alternative - no phone call, no driving, no $15.

Cheap seems to be a major concern. How far is the grocery store?

I grew up in a small town in NE Pennsylvania named Old Forge. It has labelled itself "Pizza Capital of the World!" USA Today ranked its pizza "No. 1 in the United States". Nothing else compares!!

Never had any luck with frozen. Many pizza places within a stones throw here. And for me it is not a pizza without pepperoni!

My grand kids really like those Elios squares, heat them on the bar-b-que grill when we are up that way, get them in WallyW in Kingston, , they don't taste bad to me either, not real Pizza but a good substitute. Good pizza in Hyde Park across from our friends store on 9G and at Savonas in Kingston. BTW Savonas has 2 locations we do not go to the one on the Roundout, Bob.

Wow, $15 for a pizza. Little Ceasers has them here for $6

Aside from personal taste, with pizza there is always a trade off between taste and convenience, best pizza is usually in a small place with personal attention, order , wait, eat or take out, as places get larger and assembly line style taste and quality seem to go. But everybody has their own favorites. I've got a book of about a hundred different crusts for homemade, we've made a dozen but usually do just one, how many different sauces, my wife's homemade is never exactly the same 2x in a row, close but different, cheese, different blends and cutting, too many possible combinations to calculate. I guess that was a rant, it's over, Smile , Bob.

I thought I'd try a frozen pizza, but I'd rather not waste my money on junk. Do you have recommendations for a good, frozen cheese pizza - no pepperoni?

Try Delisio. Available at Walmart and most grocery stores in Canada. Get the rising crust type (not thin crust). It’s avaiaable almost any way you want it. About $8 in Canada for a 10”.

Sorry, Jerry - never eat "frozen pizza". My pizza is a delicacy. I drive 55 miles (one way) to Vic's, in Bradley Beach, NJ. https://www.vicspizza.com/. I grew up on the same block. The bar was opened in 1933 and in 1947 they added the Italian Restaurant.

Stocking up for those days or weeks when you can't or don't want to go out in the snow? I've never had a frozen pizza that is as good as a fresh one. I haven't found one that is as good as Domino's pizza and they are about the worse pizza chains out there. But they are edible.

Another recommendation for Papa Murphy's if you have one near you. Not frozen, but cooked at home. I guess you could buy one an stick it in the freezer for later, but have never tried that.
