Rescue of a Redhead male duck who was tangled in a fishing line

Sometimes I think they need to ban fishing because of the fishing line, nets, hooks and the other crap fishermen use. How often do we see an animal in distress because it is entangled in the equipment? How many are there that we don't see and the animal doesn't get help?

No reason for you to regret what you feel. Don't expect to be successful however. There are too many fisherman out there. There is a etiquette for fisherman that is not always followed. Fisherman are also upset with those that leave line along the bank and they get tangled in it. As for line that is hooked in deep water, there is very little that can be done. That line, however, is usually not tangled and is deeper than most ducks dive. The problem line is that that got tangled and cut to clear the rest of the line and then thrown into the water. There are always people like that, look at our roadsides. How many photos do you take and then have to remove trash to clean the photo. Just think'n.

Good for you, Mohammed, to be there and recognize the situation! Good documentation shots. Another reminder for all readers to not leave fishing line, plastic netting, plastic cups in our streams, ponds, parks, and woods. Birds and animals get hooked by these objects so easily. Thank you for your post!

Wonderful images and ending Mohammed and unfortunately it happens way too often with many ending in the death of the unfortunate creature!
