Nice. I like your use of reflections!

The reflections were a bonus on a beautiful day! I like them too.

Carol, I am so pleased you are out there shooting again, and a special thanks for the alligators. I'm glad you have them and we don't, but I'm a bit envious of the wonderful verity of birds and other wildlife available to you.
Keep the pics for coming, and thanks again for the gators.
Gary

Gary, I was pretty sure you would like Bruiser and his friend. He is almost always in this spot taking in the sun! The birds were great. I didn't see quite as many varieties as sometimes but there were quite a few. I was just delighted to be there.

Excellent set, Carol! I assume no one ever takes Bruiser's favorite spot (at least not more than once).

Thank you, Mike. I think Bruiser can pretty much have whatever he wants! I sure wouldn't argue with him.

I lived on Merritt Island in the late 50's and early 60's. It was far less developed than now but it still is pretty wild and natural. I love to hike the Cruishank trail. It takes you into some pretty much untouched areas.

Yes, great short hike trail. It really is only the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. If only we could roam far and wide out there, one of the costs of the space program, limited access. The whole north end is highly accessible by canoe, in fact a large area is "no motor zone" so you have to canoe, flat bottom boat via "polling", you can airboat some of the motor zone areas, or if you are not afraid of alligators, you could "wet hike" a lot of it, just stay in the shallows.

Your love of the area is showing! Your glowing descriptions are liable to bring more visitors than the area can handle.

I came here when my dad took a job on Gemini Program, did the 9th grade through high school, spent a lot of time in the boonies and on the beach, got to know the area pretty well. Left for a little while, came back in 79 and continued, finished out my career at KSC, still here!! When I die, feed me to ole Bruiser and his buddies, I'll be here forever then!!

It's a great place to be minus the Bruiser part!

Did you go to Cocoa High School?

There are usually numerous alligators to be seen and this trip was no exception. I shot these for my friend, Gary, who has a thing for alligators!
