Maybe put that in laymans terms. Don't quite understand. If it references the picture shown it was a 50-500 pictured.
Then the seller broke the rule (unless the discription said "may not match pictured item").
Return the lens for a refund.
eBay is a mixed bag: there are good sellers and incompetent and/or dishonest ones. Many are
young people who have never been in business and don't undrestand how it's done. But bad
sellers tend to accumulate bad reviews. Always check the rating of a s seller, how long they've
been selling, and read the seller's return policy before buying. Anythnig below 90% favorable
makes me want to run.
It's easy to forget that some of these sellers have hundreds of items for sale. Honest mistakes
do happen--but the return policy should cover it. The seller has 3 days to resolve your isue,
then you can ask eBay to step in. But do try to resolve it with the seller first.
He may have acidentally swapped your lens with someone else's shipment -- and that other
buyer is likely to keep it. If that's the case, the only thing he can do is refund your money--
he has no lens to send.
I don't necessarily like how eBay works, but I've adapted to it and made hundreds of puchases
over the years--only a tiny number were unsatisfactory, and in almost ever case I was able to
return the item. At worst I ended up out a shipping charge. On the other hand, many times I
have been pleasantly surprised by how nice the item was, how well it was packed, and how
quickly it was shipped.
