My guide for my first trip to Kodiak had been a summertime guide for photographers at the Nat Geo Lodge for 13 years and had been frustrated trying to get a good BIF shot of a Belted Kingfisher for all that time. Their flight is so irregular and fast that he hadn't been able to get a good shot.
