Last Monday Jan 28 just before my computer problems started so I didn't get around to these.
This was one of the jays who came to the feeders but the crows had cleaned out the peanuts. He looked around from the overhead wire, then went down on the feeder - still no peanuts.

a local loudmouth busybody, nice shot, there is an unknown neighbor that has peanuts in the shell available and they take and hide them around, a favorite spot seems to be potted plants, then they forget where they all are........

Yes Robert, when I first joined UHH I noticed the spelling differences. One spelling that threw me was the word 'Math', I simply thought that the US contributors had accidentally missed the 's' off the end! But I suppose in the end it is nice to see these cultural differences, it defines which side of the pond we are from.

Yes, the differences define us, but sometimes cause problems. During the planning for D Day the Allied planning council learned that. A British member proposed they "table" an aspect of the plan and an argument started between him and the US members. In the UK and most of the rest of the English speaking world "table" means put it out for consideration and action. In the US "table" means put it aside and do something else. And at the time none of those at the meeting was aware of the difference in terms and procedures.

Oh, my son spent so much time with his friends that he developed an accent that was sort of a cross between Oxford and Australia. Really shocked people who didn't know him well when they found out he was California born and raised. To make matters more confused I, having a "different" sense of humor, would dredge out my Southern Accent from my childhood and use it around them.

The experts say they can remember hundreds of stashes. But will abandon them when food is plentiful.

That is mean. Watch out or one day they may steal your BBQ while you are eating in the yard.
