Trying to chose between a Nikon D5600 & D7200 - the 7200 has a $300 discount any help ?

I own 2 d7100s and think you'll be disappointed with the d5600. If you want to save a bunch of money, go for a used or refurbished d7100. Check nikonusa.com for refurb and KEH for used...

I'd take the 7200 with the discount.

I’d do either the d5600 (minus 5100) or the d7200 (minus 6700) ;-)

For me, no contest
The D7200 has:
Brighter pentaprism instead of a pentamirror..
Auto FP mode for flash (ability to do high speed sync) and the pop-up flash can control off camera speedlights.
Use older AF lenses as well with the in-body focus motor
More robust build.

(Personally, I would prefer the D500 for the menu interface and I use radio triggered flashes, so don’t need the pop-up.)

I love my 7100. For me, it is the perfect compromise between size, weight, and IQ. D7200 is even better.

I would say the D7200. It's easier to use. The D5600 has the flip screen but since you want a DSLR and not mirrorless the flip screen isn't important.

No brainer--the D7200 for sure.

I had a D5500 and traded up to the D7200. Best decision I made!

As an owner, I agree the D7200 is the better choice.

Could you explain your thought behind this?

No doubt, D7200. One of the best values for a higher end DX camera out there right now, especially if you can find a used one in pristine condition. I still use mine even though I have a D500 and a couple of FF bodies.

Gotta agree with the majority, the D7200 is the way to go; it's one of my two Nikon bodies.

Nope. Neither. I'd save if I had to in order to get the D500. The D500 is one of the best cameras made by Nikon.
