Seriously!!!......Only in Lowell😳 You will not believe what just happened. I went to Shell to get something to drink. When I walked up I noticed these two cops watching a woman who was smoking while getting gas. I saw her and thought, "What an idiot...with the cops right there too." But anyway, I went in and got my Gatorade. As I was checking out, I heard someone screaming. I looked outside and the woman's arm was on fire! She was swinging her arm & running around like crazy! I ran outside and the cops had put her on the ground and were putting the fire out with their coffees! Then they put handcuffs on her and threw her in the police car. I was thinking "She shouldn't have been smoking & pumping gas, but surely she's not going to be arrested for her stupidity, I mean, especially considering the circumstances!!! The lady just burned her arm for goodness sake!!!" So, being the nosey person that I am, I asked them what they were arresting her for... The cop looked me dead in the eye and said ... "WAVING A FIREARM !"

That's a bit of a groaner.
One time, I actually confronted a woman at the gas station who was smoking a cigarette while pumping gas. She was 2 pumps away from me. I told her to put the cigarette out immediately before she blows everything up. She couldn't believe I was talking to her and refused to put it out and said it's not gonna hurt anything.
She left quickly after that. I was very close to calling the gas station people over to get her to stop.
Evidently, if you're an idiot, the brain does not pick up on that fact and you continue doing idiotic things.

Yes, it was intended to be a groaner, I think.

I will use this to express one of my biggest complaints at the gas station pumps. People on cell phones, It is illegal to use a cell phone while pumping gas, why some would ask? Because cell phones emit RF energy and under the right circumstance will ignite (blow up) gas fumes. Granted it is very low energy, but why chance it? There is a reason why there are stickers on the pumps and there is a law banning their use at the gas pumps. I mentioned this to a young lady at the pumps and she looked at me in disbelief and then ignored me. Another time I mentioned it to a young man he at least hung up his call. It is at the point that if I see someone with a phone in their hands I keep going... I say all of this with a fair amount on knowledge on matters concerning RF. for years I installed two way radios, amateur radio, CB radio, early cell phones. I would amaze people by holding a florescent light bulb near the antenna and ask them to key their mic. The bulb would light up with no connection to the antenna or anything for that matter. The power of RF energy

I'm a radio guy (HAM) too, repair and installs for hunters, truckers, airboaters, etc. Ham/CB/VHF/UHF/Drones etc. It is amazing how much power there is in RF, go ahead and key-up with that 1000 watt linear amp while pumping gas...…. LOL I bet we could share days worth of stupid radio operator stories, I know I have a ton of them. You are right, even 4 watts can arc.

Ever open up a CB, (Guy brings one to me I had repaired and installed earlier and says I was in my truck and "it just quit, won't talk anymore") and find something strange...… when I opened it up it had mud and tiny snails in it from an airboat blowover!!!! He cleaned it up outside and thought that would be enough. A mutual friend confirmed he had it on his airboat when he rolled it. Same with the mud truck crowd...never know what you'll find.
Coax attached directly to tube bumpers, I kid you not. Anyway, I could go on for a while.

And some of 'em live long enough to reproduce.
