Thank you, Photogirl. Seeing the naked figure of crucified Christ out of context, standing alone in a snow-covered field, was startling. The handcarving art is remarkable.

P 29 Pat, these are wonderful images, especially the first shot! You were truly blessed that morning to have those gorgeous colors and the frosted trees presented to your camera through your back door. I think that photo is truly exhibit worthy!

Thanks, Tim! I snapped that image more than 70 years ago when I was walking around Berchtesgaden in subfreezing temperatures.

Thanks for the kind comments, Lesley, and I'm so glad
you like this set!

To answer your question about those other items; I think
the one is a rosary (I'm not Catholic, so perhaps someone
who is can verify that.)

The other one, the one with the writing on it, is actually some
kind of shell; someone left both items laying on the back
portion of the sculpture, and I hung the beads on the
sculpture. A lot of people hide or leave behind painted
rocks for other people to find and treasure, and I'm wondering
if that's the case with these two items.

Judging by what I saw on their web site,
(https://www.friendsofcodorus.org/galleries/album/3640686)
I think there were only two ice sculptures, and I'm not
sure what happened to the other one.
Thanks for the kind comments, Lesley, and I'm so g... (show quote)

They even held a costumed Polar Bear Plunge..lol

I'm sure it was extraordinary in person, as it's exceptional in this photo ..
