Regarding the 'dirtbag' Kamala Harris

Of the half dozen, or so, Democrats who have entered the 2020 p**********l sweepstakes, California Senator Kamala Harris is the left-wing medias first choice.

This is obvious based on the coverage of her announcement – which followed extensive coverage of her daily activities. Though unimpressive, her questioning of Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court nomination hearings was given high reviews in the east coast media cabal.

This is a woman who could hardly take a trip to the lady’s room without getting favorable coverage on CNN and MSNBC – and favorable comments from the ever-present New York Times and Washington Post reporters and editorialists who populate every panel on those networks.

For the east coast propaganda press, Harris is a two-fer in the world of identity policies that they love so much. She is a woman and she is African American – at least sufficiently to qualify under our unique ethnic determination standards. She is actually more Indian (as from India) than she is a black African American. Her mother is Indian and her father is Jamaican of mixed ancestry. But when you combine self-identity politics with identity politics, you can present yourself as anything you please.

Harris also scores high in the glamour category. She is not only good looking, but she is from California – and if there is anything the east coast media likes more than New York and Washington, it is California. And it is not only her own personal glamour, but she is also the darling of many in the uber-liberal Hollywood movie community. If they love her, then the east coast press must love her.

Coming from California, Harris is the personification of the entire radical left-wing agenda. She considers Medicare-for-all, single-payer or universal health coverage – no matter what you call it – to be an absolute right. She says as much even though in the truest and legal sense, it is NOT a right at all. The left has a disturbing habit of saying they everything they want to impose on we the people is some sort of “right.” Not so. A proposal can be a good thing or a bad thing, but not a right.

We can tell that Harris is a media favorite by the among of positive coverage she gets – and it is enormous. The amount of air time and print coverage of her pre-announcement and this formal announcement should have the other Democrat p**********l contenders green with envy. But news coverage is only the first indication of press popularity. It is all that analysis – the propaganda portion.

Based on the fawning descriptions of her announcement speech, you would have thought it to be the on par with the Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech. According to the mavens of the Fourth Estate, Harris hit all the right notes. Every word was eloquent.

She was praised for how many times she said “we” and how she called on the greatness of the American people. She said we are stronger when we are united. Etc. Etc. Etc. Having listened to her speech, I heard a lot of political clichés that have been espoused by virtually every major candidate in every p**********l e******n. For the pandering press, the analyses were not based on what she said, but who she is.

In addition to the extensive coverage of the speech, there was all those biographical features – mini-documentaries, if you will. CNN put her on the schedule for one of their promotional townhall meetings. And she is guesting on every left-wing show on the networks.

One might wonder why Harris trumps Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren in garnering such generous coverage. First of all, despite her best efforts to sell her dubious Native American ancestry, Warren is a one-fer — a woman. She also made the mistake of trying to cast herself as the plain old Oklahoma girl – far removed from the glittery tinsel-town personality of Harris.

Of course, as the senator from Massachusetts, an image of some freckled-faced girl from Oklahoma City is not selling very well. Also, standing next to Harris, Warren is … well … frumpy. Standing next to anyone, Warren is frumpy.

Harris has a few other advantages for the press. Coming from California, she has the hometown advantage in the state with by far the most e*******l delegates. Since the Golden State has moved up in the p**********l primary circuit, Harris could get an important early lead in the delegate count.

Up until her announcement, Harris has been in single digits in most polls – bested by Joe Biden, Beto O’Rouke and even Warren. But, with this infusion of positive publicity across the left-wing media, that could change dramatically.

Having said all that, Harris is by no means a pre-emptive candidate. There is a lot of time and a lot of other candidates between now and the Democratic primaries and National Convention.

Harris is not without some past issues that may not reflect well on her media-polished image. In many ways, she was a party hack as San Francisco states attorney and then-Attorney general. She defended cases in which local prosecutors – among the most political offices in law enforcement – gained convictions by entering false confessions, withholding evidence and committing perjury. All of which are serious crimes.

Then there is a tradition that is almost always overlooked. Early non-incumbent frontrunners rarely succeed. The Hillary Clinton nomination in 2016 was more of an anomaly than the norm. If Harris is inclined to have a sobering thought, it is this. The press that praises her so lavishly is, itself, not very popular, believed or trusted in fly-over America where most of the v**es are.

So, there ‘tis.

Well written assessment.

Though, I might be critical of the use of 'dirtbag' in the title. It can tend to put some off the actual assessment within the post.

That is an excellent question. Just when one thinks we've gotten to the bottom of the barrel, whoa, there's another layer beneath.

What did I miss? What is sleazy about her? I've only seen her in action in clinics and she is very formidable. If I were a defendant in court I would not want her for a prosecutor. I can picture a lot of men feeling threatened by her, and as a candidate that could be a negative, but it hardly makes her sleazy.

This woman is very impressive. Whether she should be president, we will see, but she is very impressive.

This is easy. The title of this post was written by a right wing UHH nut job, whose specialty is plagiarizing articles from other sources. Specifically, in this case,

https://dimwitpolitics.com/2019/01/28/kamala-harris-is-media-choice-so-far/

Easy to copy, paste, and put up an insulting title. Just not ethical, moral, or smart.

But then, those aren't the defining characteristics of the right wing UHH, are they?

Far to early to make a serious assessment of Harris, either good or bad; unless one is predisposed to h**e all Democrats, especially those from California/
