PH CIB, thanks for getting back to me. My niece is with the PH in Columbus, OH. I guess I could have checked with her, but my questions are specific to vets in Syria. They are not what I want to discuss publicly, thus the request for PM with a vet who was deployed there recently.

After seeing some rather snarky remarks, I'm pulling this post as it seems some of the posters do not understand the meaning of PM, and I don't need to be accused of any wrongdoing.

Too bad an honest and simple request has to attract the cheap shot artists.

I am sure the OP piques the interest of veterans...particularly why you want to hear from a veteran without explaining why.

Actually this is a topic well worth discussing,,,I have been involved with Veterans and Veterans issues since 1967 and worked as a Veterans Representative for the State of Iowa for 29 years,,,many things have gotten better over the years for Veterans while somethings have gotten worse,,,There was a Law on the Books for Stolen Valor which was rescinded by the Court for violation I believe of Free Speech,,,most of the Non Veterans posing as Veterans or even Veterans lying about their Service are bad enough,,,yet some are actually fraudulent,,,I would not give money or any help to anyone I did not know without throughly investigating the person,,,and it gets even worse many so called Charities are set up banking on the American Public's Good Heart and Caring for Veterans,,,some hire Fund Raising Organizations and/or have exorbitant salaries and expenses and in some cases only 50 cents or even less maybe 20 or 30 cents on each Dollar donated actually gets spent helping Veterans,,,Before Donating to any Charity do your homework,,,in the end I like to donate my time and money helping Veterans locally where I can directly see the Benefits of that help...

I just assume any message about helping someone get large amounts of money is a scam.

Moose,
Sorry about the nasty comments of some, but most of the folks in UHH are good hearted and eager to to help fellow members.
Best of luck,

No doubt he posted it to the UHH forum hoping some vet here could help him, via PM. Why is that difficult for you to understand?
