Hmm... it seems the opinions are split, which pretty much mirrors my own thoughts on it.

I’d say you have produced a very interesting shot Walt. The clear path through the tangled branches, and that lovely sky beyond make a very good image. What a great start to b&w landscape!

I took this one today and thought it might make a decent B&W conversion. I haven't done any landscapes in B&W so I need feedback. Does it have any interest?

Walt I commented earlier, but with a bit of study, I thought these very minor changes made a significant made a change you may or may not like. Feel free to tell me to go away if you disagree. RBorud

Honestly, Clouds can produce suburb B&W images, although here they seem to be "Crowded-Out" by the many, many tree branches, and those seem to overwhelm the image. Now other UHH members with more experience than I may share other opinions.

The conversion to mono is very well done. This photo , I think, might not have been the best choice for conversion. Perhaps a person or animal at the rather abrupt end of the path might have provided a needed subject and story.

I actually like your version better than mine. There’s more contrast between the blacks and whites, more of a range from dark to light.

Thanks Walt please use it. All I did was change the gamma a tiny bit to enrich it, clone out some of the branch shadows at the near end of the path, and run a 10% (edge preserving smoothness. All this is in Paint Shop Pro. RBorud

I appreciate the offer to use it but it isn’t my edit so I will not be using it for any purpose other than inspiration.
