Hmmm..... Cant decide which to buy. This $36,000 cabin or a camera?
I would go for the cabin.

No interest at all. I'd love to have a MF film Hasselblad though.
That H6 can shoot film though. But still I like the V series better. The H series look ugly.

Ain't no way in hell I would pay that amount for a camera even if I was a millionaire and had money to burn. I hope Hasselblad doesn't go broke waiting for people to line up to purchase one of these.
Would the kids and grandkids each like one, if they’re available by Christmas?

Yikes. My parents' first home cost $11,000 back in 1951 in California no less.
I take one of them, I have pocket money today to do it. Right!

True. And most folks buy their cars over a 5 to 6 year period (most, not all) and 6 years from now that camera will be worth about as much as that SUV, maybe less.

I think I'll get two...Not.
I'll bet its ($$$) all in the chip and the name. Camera and program is just 10% of it.
Looks to me I can buy a Mercedes for that prize. The Mercedes will not take pictures but I will go first class everywhere I go.
Guess you have to be shooting lots of high end fashion catalogs to make it pay for itself.

i wonder what makes this camera supposedly worth that much,, the name?
Besides the Hasselblad name - precision engineered, there's the cost of the 100 mp sensor. Those are not cheap, and the volume is only spread among a few thousand units world-wide. Development, research, marketing, all the costs get very few units to eat them.
These will be used by only the most demanding photogs and studios. And they'll have to gauge the expected volume against the cost of a $40K+ camera.
The camera is worth $10,000 .., the name is worth $37,000.
That being said ...if each member of the Hog put in $10 .. collectively .. we could purchase this new camera and each own a fraction of it .. heck .. I could say I’m part owner of this baby ...
Like a time share condo .., we each could take turns using the thing and pass it on to the next owner ..it shouldn’t take more than 10 years to for each Hog to have gotten to use it for a day or so ...
