Democratic socialism is alive and well in many countries. For it to work here - with universal health care and education - we would have to actually think about our priorities. The nations that successfully offer universal health care and education do not let their rich continue to rape their society and they also do not spent more than half of their disposable income on past, present, and future wars like we do. In our country we have the richest man on the planet paying minimum wage to employees who rely on Medicaid.
