Actually, there is a postal station in Antarctica, (maybe at MacMurdo Sound?) from which tourists can mail post cards, et cetera with a very interesting postmark.
OK, I looked it up the "Penguin Post Office" at Port Lockroy, part of the UK Postal Service, operates Nov to March with aprx 18000 cruise ship tourists each season and 70-80,000 postcards to an average of 100 countries each season. No automated equipment, processed by hand (4 people work in it those 5 months and they take care of the museum, gift shop and a bunch of other stuff like keeping the poop of over 2000 penguins cleaned off the paths etc.) It is a 2 week trip one way to get there and come home.
