Any UHH members living in Fairfax County, Virginia can relax.
Per the Wadhington Post, “Hedgehogs, those small and prickly little creatures, are no longer illegal to own in Fairfax County.

On Tuesday, the county’s Board of Supervisors legalized hedgehogs as household pets. It also lifted a rule requiring a permit to keep hermit crabs and chinchillas.”

I don't think that's a good reason for going out and getting one. Leave them alone in their wild habitats, I say.

Set some humane traps. Strap some small cameras around their necks and send them on their way.

Why were they illegal in the first place? I assume they are talking about the African hedgehog. I have run in to people who thought they were related to pigs!

Sorry but I don't think I would believe anything that appears in the WADHINGTON POST.

Can you get little red vests for them and call them a service animal? Why would someone want a wild animal as a pet? I have a hard enough time with the havoc my dogs create. 😁

I can get you a large hedghog for a few bucks. He has long ears a little round tail and has been hopping around my back yard.
