It makes a difference to me :)

I could see the differences after you pointed them out. It seems that it would only be significant if you were printing large?

I am making a leap here but it seems that maybe it was more significant early on before LR updates.

Are you going to change your workflow?

Thanks for your interest and testing.

I may be in the process of changing my workflow as we speak, figuratively speaking. Moments ago, I made some changes in the properties (degree of sharpening, contrast, etc.) in I XT, and am about to look at results. Bottom line (at this point) is trending: if there's an ostensible improvement, then yeah, I'll be making a change or two, not toward 'post' processing per se, but in how to initially 'translate' my X-Trans image files.

Strange as this may sound, your initial post and where its gone has contributed to becoming one of the first 'new' things I've learned here on UHH. And you can translate that thusly to, "Thank you, Yvonne."

Where I saw a difference was when I put it through Iridient X then to Lightroom and used the adjustment tools - Before, using the contrast and highlight slider would add "worminess" to my pic, now I seem to be able to adjust without too much degradation.

For those of you that process Fuji Raw data what software are you using? Capture One has "Fuji Express" software that is free. Just wondering if one software is better than others.

I tried SilkyPix which is free but I found it was quite slow to update after each adjustment and I didn't like the results even after further tweaks in DXO PhotoLab for which I had to use TIF files.

I found I got much better results by converting the RAF files to DNG with Iridient X-Transformer and then processing them in PSE 11.

Hello,

I use AlienSkin Exposure X4 and Iridient Developer. ASX4 is my primary choice. I find it very easy to use and the film sims are great. You should be able to download a trial. I highly recommend it. It works great with my Xt1 and Xe2 RAW files.

Also good with my D300.

Irident Developer is fantastic but, for me, does not have such a slick, user-friendly interface. You can download a trial copy. Fantastic for foliage with Fuji RAW files.

Luminar works fine as does ON1 Raw.

I hope that gives you some food for thought.

I'm also looking for a go-to RAW processor. I have a X-T2. I've had Corel Aftershot Pro 3 for some time which is okay, inexpensive, and works fairly seamlessly with Corel Paint Shop Pro which I've used for years. Recently did Capture One trial which I liked a lot but am not sure it delivers benefits commensurate with the sticker. Trying out ON1 now which has a relatively quick learning curve, allows working with layers (which the Express version of Capture One does not), and has a handy-dandy haze reducing filter. But it seems to have limited flexibility in color adjustment, and there's some hit-or-miss aspects to applying local adjustments. I'm seeing it offered for about $70 and that's a good price point for what it can do.

FYI, when I posted about RawTherapee, I had also tried and failed with Darktable, but I only had version 2.4 at the time and it predated the XT3. Since then, I got to my regular computer to try version 2.6 and it handled the XT3 RAF file quite well. Both RawTherapee and Darktable are free and available for Windows, MacOS, Linux and Unix OSs.

That's good to know. Thanks aflindi.

I highly reccomend Alien Skin X4. Less complicated, more presets and great results.Nothing to lose with 30 day free trial. I own others including On 1-had many crashes.

Totally agree ASX4 is excellent.
