Hi,
Have been using CS5 for a few years now .
Excellent programme but now that I have a Lumix , it does not recognise the Raw files .

I can not afford the Photoshop Cloud monthly fee as I only do photography as hobby and do not make money from it ..

On Ebay I see that there is a Read Only CD of CS6 .. Full version and Licence free .
It's £50 ( not that cheap ) ... I contacted the seller and he says its an official Adobe CD .

I've done some google search and can not find any info on such a product ..

Anyone know anything about it ?

Cheers

If it is "License Free" then most likely it is pirated Software

Cs6 was heavily pirated. Turn off auto updates if so. I use cs6 and like owning the software. Cloud based is good until it's not.
Worth the risk. I like getting stuff used you save so much money. Just be prepared as about 10% of the time things don't work out.

On the other hand, you can get free software to edit your images.

Luk, I am using PS CS5, and dearly love it. I also use a Canon 5DII camera. Everything is good.

Then I bought Lumix camera to become my "pocket" camera. Bingo, my CS5 does not recognize the RAW files. Solution? Easy. I bought Affinity, and it -does- recognize my Lumix RAW files. Problem solved.

I also look at my Affinity as my Plan B, should the day come that my CS5 fails. You will then own the Affinity software, which also has planned updates should you elect to update. I probably won't since my Affinity offers me so much. So, peace with Lumix camera RAW.

Hi, br Have been using CS5 for a few years now . b... (show quote)

Tough call. My CS6 was downloaded from Adobe as an update, so I don't have a CD. It's registered in my name, but I think there's a way to "unauthorize it" - or whatever Adobe calls it. In that case, I think I would be able to let someone else install it. I've removed and reinstalled it on different computers, so that part is possible. If that CS6 CD on eBay works, that's a good price, especially for the Extended version. Buying from eBay and PayPal, you have some level of protection.

EDIT: Lots of CS6 available on eBay.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=photoshoip+cs6&_sacat=0

This would make me suspicious. "Following directions"? Installing PS is not that complicated. It claims to be "Brand New," but I wonder if you are actually getting the same items Adobe would have sold you.
"*I will not be issuing any more refunds if you can not follow simple directions.*

*This is Windows only. I will not refund you if you make a mistake and buy it for mac.*

***You must strictly use the setup and product key I give to you***"

I'm tempted to buy the one that's listed for $29.99 just to see what I get. That sounds like it's an instant download, so you don't get a disk or that pretty package the seller shows. He can sell the same item thousands of times.

Jerry, I looked at those offers on eBay using your link. Don't you think nearly all of them are illegal copies?

The software updates were installed online by Adobe, so the disk is irrelevant. I doubt that a user would get an update, but that's an interesting question. If I reinstalled CS6 on a new computer, would I get the updates to make it current?

EDIT: Yes! Adobe will update this old program.

Adobe has a free converter that should make your Lumix files useable on CS5. It is free.

You can still keep your original files or embed them in the new DNG file. Someone will tell you that the DNG file strips some information from the DNG file, and that is true. It strips out some of the camera manufacturers proprietary information that Adobe software ignores anyway.

Adobe does a great job of keeping it up to date.
