Walls like that are effective when manned with military RoE that allow shoot to k**l. Those walls are smaller and much easier to patrol. Our wall is estimated to cost a minimum of $4 million per mile not to mention on-going cost of manning and maintenance. I don’t want my tax money wasted on this non-solution when there are better, more cost-effective solutions.
Sound deadening walls along the highway cost around $2million per linear mile. Your taxes pay for that. As of 2013 the government has spent over $6 billion on 3000 miles of these of which about 750 are in California. And all it does is sorta deaden the sound and obstruct the view.
I'd trade that for a border wall any day.
