Agree with first two sentences, then; No offense meant but - I don't quite get your rant - Outlaw cameras - you mean red light cameras, dash cams, security cams? Be specific, I've seen no reports of anything else.. Drinking straws and plastic bags, well if the public could act responsibly with these pollutants rather than just throwing them everywhere, (same with cig butts), it wouldn't be an issue. I'm not in Cali, but I think the stuff needs to be controlled (we are making a mess of our planet for profit by a few) just look out in the Pacific Ocean for the answer. Residents of Florida toss enough trash, and tourists add to it. All that plastic crap will haunt us for centuries as it takes forever to break down, all for extra profit by the oil/chemical corporations/shareholders.

Family going through your garbage; Maybe talk to the family going through your garbage, maybe they need help, I doubt they choose to eat garbage. Just saying.

Why do you say that? From personal experience? I've had nothing but excellent care from Best Buy. Same with Adorama, B&H, and Amazon.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Best Buy's insurance. Reliable dealers - Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Costco, Crutchfield, Hunt’s, Robert’s

Got this list from the internet. Looks valid. But, looks (internet) can be deceiving.

My Nikon Df just came back from repair and I paid $380 to had it fixed. Now talking about extended warranty I wonder how much such a warranty would cost. Remember the camera started having the problem 4 years and 3 months after I bought it so the warranty must be for at least 5 years.

I only buy from 2 dealers, and in this order:
1. B&H
2. Amazon
Their prices are best and return policy is "no hassle."

My suggestion would to go through Nikon directly and buy a refurbished unit through them. This is a really great way to save. I believe they also offer extended warranty on refurbs. Lastly, I would have to agree that you should have an added addendum on your homeowners insurance for your gear. With the right policy, it can cover, theft, loss, and accidental damage.

Won't be any refurb Z6s for about a year.

There is already some used gear showing up on KEH.

No refurbs. Won’t be for a long time.

You mean nobody bought the Z6 and return?

Good point. I wonder whether Nikon would rather have returns filling up a room at the warehouse or sell them at a discount and depress the market for new ones?

I suspect there have been returns. What I know is that there are no refurbs for a year or two after a new model is released. Keep in mind all new Nikon’s come with one year warranty.

And when refurbs become available they are hard to get. How long has the D850 been out? Checked refurb availability?

Yes, there will be used. Unfortunately Nikon warranty doesn’t transfer.
