My favorite camera is, suprising enough, the NIKON Coolpix AW series. Mine is the AW130. The newer AW300 is good to about 100 ft. Mine is good to at least 75 feet if not 100 ft. I got mine refurbished from Nikon. Here is info on the newer one

You can buy used off ebay but I like to buy new or refurbished because I want to make sure the seals of OK. I strongly suggest getting a floating strap for any waterproof camera cause it is easy to loose your grip especially under water. I use the following one.
https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/610C3ADF-4D73-4979-982F-5E956BDC2A0E?store_ref=SB_A09061502EPPQ04FYLMS0&pf_rd_p=e037c154-e093-48a4-b127-477e5e294e3f&hsa_cr_id=1365981440301&lp_slot=auto-sparkle-hsa-tetris&lp_asins=B00GUZEZL4,B01B1GRPDG,B010Z9P4OC&lp_mat_key=floating%20camera%20strap&lp_query=floating%20camera%20strap&sb-ci-n=brandLogo&
The following images were taken with the AW130. The first image is of my grand daughter in the pool, second is of a manatee, third image is of an allusive mermaid, and the last shot is to show it can be used out of water, it is an image of our guide and his dog in Acrylic canoes.
My favorite camera is, suprising enough, the NIKON... (show quote)

Thank you Bill for the links and the valuable info.

Regardless of the camera I get, I'm definitely going to get that strap. Thanks Bill.

I second this recommendation. I have had an AW100 for several years and it is both capable and tough.

At your budget your best buy is the Fuji. TG5 is 3x that.

If you are a member of Costco they are selling the TG5 and the Fuji XP130. $429 and $129. They sell a bundle including a 16 GB SD card and a floatation strap. The Fuji also has a case. FYI.

Check out the Panasonic Lumix line of P&S cameras, I am not sure, but they might have a quality Waterproof camera that may meet your requirements.

Canon makes a waterproof point and snoot too. My buddy uses one for travel and rainy days. He swears by it. (Not at it).

Submersible to 65 ft is really impressive for a realtively inexpensive camera.

Canon Sureshot A1 Underwater: about $30 used
* Waterproof to a depth of 5 meters
* 135 film ("full-frame") DX coded, ISO 25 - 3200
* Fixed 35 mm f/3.5 lens
* Modes: Off, On, On with redeye, On without red eye, On--no flash.
* Large optical viewfinder
* 3-point AiAF
* Focusing range 0.45m to infinity above water, fixed focus underwater
* Batteries: one 6v PX28 battery or four 4 LR44 1.5v alkaline cells
* Introduced in 1978
* Underwater, fixed-lens version of the Canon A1

Minolta Weathermatic 35DL in a thrift store: $10
* Waterproof to a depth of 5 meters
* 135 film ("full-frame") DX coded
* Dual lens: switch between 35 mm f/3.5 and 50 mm f/5.6 at the touch of a button
* Optical viewfinder and an attachable sport sight
* AF range above water: 2.5 ft to infinity. Fixed focus underwater.
* Introduced in 1986
* Waterproof version of the AF-DL model

These film cameras will still be working long after the digital cameras are long dead.
My Minolta 35DL has been working for over 30 years.

I use the pentax wga 2.. it is built for rugged. Comes with a bouyant strap. Fits in your pocket. Takes decent photos....there is probably a newer version as I have had mine for over 5 years. Spent about 160 on it at Target. I kayak and wanted something for in the rough water. I also have used it in the rain.

I have a Nikon aw130 that replaces a lost Olympus Tough something that was old but much loved. I don’t like the Nikon nearly as much as the Olympus fwiw. I’ll be replacing it with a new Olympus sometime soon.

I do hope you have planned a trip to Vieques island for a night time paddle on the bioluminescent mosquito bay! Truly amazing. There’s also a great hike on a little island off the south coast of Vieques. You won’t find any tourism brochures on it just ask the locals in Esperanza. You have to walk through the water to get to the island. At the far end of the island you’ll find yourself up on a cliff with a great view of Vieques.
