Hey fellow UHHer's we're going to Puerto Rico next month and I'm looking for a dependable underwater P&S camera that will take a few bumps here and there.

Waterproof to somewhere around 30-50 ft.. Any suggestions ?

Olympus Tough TG-5. Handy, rugged and has a great macro mode as well. Fits nicely in a pocket.

I'm another happy Olympus Tough TG-5 owner. You want sample images or a list of all the unique features?

I have the Fuji XP 120. Takes a decent photo and is modestly priced. Photo attached taken with it while standing in the waves. One draw back...does not shoot RAW files.

Agreed.

The TG-5.

Get a buoyant strap to go with it.

Nikon AW1 has a 1 inch sensor, shoots raw is a great camera, I used it on my recent Galapagos trip and the underwater shots of penguins, sharks, and sea life are great. There are some great deals on them on eBay.

Tough cameras are great. Lots of choices, but Olympus seems to have cornered the market.

We recently visited family overseas which included a trip to the Gulf of Thailand. Both the wife and daughter took their waterproof cameras for underwater pictures, and both functioned well. The wife has a Olympus Tough TG-5, and the daughter has a Fujifilm FinePix XP130. Neither camera had any problems. Best wishes on your upcoming trip.

My favorite camera is, suprising enough, the NIKON Coolpix AW series. Mine is the AW130. The newer AW300 is good to about 100 ft. Mine is good to at least 75 feet if not 100 ft. I got mine refurbished from Nikon. Here is info on the newer one
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341599-REG/nikon_26524_coolpix_w300_digital_camera.html?sts=pi
You can buy used off ebay but I like to buy new or refurbished because I want to make sure the seals of OK. I strongly suggest getting a floating strap for any waterproof camera cause it is easy to loose your grip especially under water. I use the following one.
https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/610C3ADF-4D73-4979-982F-5E956BDC2A0E?store_ref=SB_A09061502EPPQ04FYLMS0&pf_rd_p=e037c154-e093-48a4-b127-477e5e294e3f&hsa_cr_id=1365981440301&lp_slot=auto-sparkle-hsa-tetris&lp_asins=B00GUZEZL4,B01B1GRPDG,B010Z9P4OC&lp_mat_key=floating%20camera%20strap&lp_query=floating%20camera%20strap&sb-ci-n=brandLogo&
The following images were taken with the AW130. The first image is of my grand daughter in the pool, second is of a manatee, third image is of an allusive mermaid, and the last shot is to show it can be used out of water, it is an image of our guide and his dog in Acrylic canoes.

Budget?

The 12MP Tough ($449) is a favorite, but the Panasonic ts7 at 20.4MP has been quite popular lately. And the Panasonic is on sale for $347 at B&H

The TG5 seems to be the one to get and that's the one I'll investigate. Thanks to all of you for your input and thanks Jerry for the links.
