I have 5 of them great tvs
Flat screen TVs, not just Samsung, should be stored, handled and shipped, standing up (vertical, like how you would view the TV), NOT laying down. I see most people buying such TVs lay them down in the bed of their truck or in the back of their car/SUV. Bad idea.
The screens are not supported very well when laying them flat (horizontal) and so they tend to flex up and down in transport. This kind of flexing can damage the elements of the screen resulting in ghosts or shadows in the areas damaged. A shipping caution is usually printed on the outside of the box, although not always easy to find. You will also note that places like BestBuy and Costco store flatscreen TVs vertically for the same reason.
I'm NOT saying this is the cause of bobforman's issue, but it could very well be.
...just a thought and observation...nothing more.
