Watch the Sony introduction video, the A6400 has new tech in autofocusing (The world's now fastest autofocus and subject aquisition of ANY camera at 0.02 sec). The fastest before was the A9 at 0.05. The new firmware updates for the A9 will increase it to this speed. And the A6400 has new tech in Artificial Intelligence in real-time subject tracking and EYE-AF , including Animal EYE-AF in firmware update. And HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) plus SLogs in video among other features.Newly added 1:1 aspect ratio for easier social-media shots. And this is for an entry-level APS-C camera. The upcoming Sony APS-C A7000 will be a mini-A9 with many of its features, and have 4k/60p and more to match or exceed the Fuji XT3.

I personally am not buying this A6400. I have already the A6500, A7RIII and A7III and will wait for the A7000, and the A7SIII. Cheers

And NO IBIS nor 2 card slots. Not a viable camera by everyone's standards from previous complaints over and over.

Hmmmm, Canons mirrorless offerings have no IBIS and only single card slots. Heaven forbid ANYONE buys one of these worthless offerings!!!!!

That is exactly the point of my post. The Sony walks on water but has all the same "flaws" that Sony fanboys complain that Canon lacks. But they ignore these fatal flaws as long as it is a Sony.

Archie and Empty Shooter, Don't get your panties in a bunch. There's a big difference here. The a6400 is clearly intended primarily as a vlogger camera to compete with Fuji and Panasonic on studio video. For that, IBIS and even a second card slot are not needed. CaNikon, however, think they are God's gift and everything they release is pro level. Any pro camera, especially an all-'rounder should have IBIS and dual card slots.

Suppose I coulda just said "apples and oranges."

Yes its amazing how fanboys follow some manufacturers propoganda blindly and ignore any other sensible arguments. Isn't that exactly how the fascists took over Germany and created the Nazi regime???? Yep.

If you are vlogging how do you see the screen with the microphone in the way?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Although the name suggests a step back some of the features are rumored to be better. We'll find out when the camera hits the shelf.

Also since it is designated A6400 it may indicated a top level APS-C might follow.

After watching all the previews and tech comparisons I could stand my conclusion is the we won't see a high end APS-C camera from Sony any time soon.

Since Sony is planning firmware for the A9, A7III and A7RIII to include the new auto focus and tracking features what would be the point of a new camera.

Good news for those of us that already have high end Sony cameras.

This does appear an oversight, or at least a compromise (I suspect the latter). A mic must be mounted to a side bracket. Good point, and one Chelsea Northrup brought up in Tony (who has never sounded so bad) & Chelsea's preview video of the a6400.

Do you mean like making a claim the Canon can’t make a fully articulated screen that is waterproof?

At least the fanboys don’t make up stuff like yourself.

Yes.
I really don't care either way but get tired of the bashing of Canon for lack of a feature but sing praises of X brand that has the same failure.

Okay, time to step back, take a deep breath, sharpen a pencil and draft yourself a clue, Architect. First of all, did you not understand that the a6400 is not the same class of camera as CaNikon promotes their mirrorless full-frame bodies? Read that again and let it sink in. How many point and shoot cameras or cell phones have dual card slots? None. At the other end of the spectrum, how many pro cameras do? All. In between, how about prosumer or enthusiast cameras? Most, and all should -- yet they were conspicuously absent in the 2nd-gen Sony offerings -- which drew constant complaints -- and they are absent in the CaNikon offerings despite that CaNikon heard all the complaints and should have known better.

Next, I and many other Sony shooters (or "fanboys," a term used regularly by jealous Sony haters) complained about Sony's lack of a second card slot in its second-generation full-frame mirrorless bodies. I think this was a gross oversight, no, miscalculation by Sony. These complaints did not suddenly begin when CaNikon announced their full-frame mirrorless bodies. Such a characterization is simply disingenuous or obtuse, but either way not at all true. Hell, CaNikon followed Sony on almost everything including this and other shortcomings of first and second-gen Sony mirrorless bodies.

I am disappointed. I really hoped for something better, some real competition from CaNikon to spur further innovation by Sony, but that hasn't happened. Too bad, and now I expect Nikon's pathetic effort to stop its customers from jumping to Sony will backfire as its customers who had been waiting for a good mirrorless option see that option is not Nikon, but Sony. Canon, on the other hand, will probably produce something much better than its current offerings -- then sit on it and do nothing more for four or five years, allowing its competition to take a couple more leaps ahead.

So sit there and stew if you want to, but don't falsely claim that Sony shooters only now began complaining about the lack of a second card slot. That had been atop or near the top of our wish list for years. Same as a better battery, and Sony listened there, too. Now, Sony is responding to a nearly ubiquitous clamor over lack of a timelapse function by adding that in the April firmware release. Sony innovates, and Sony listens.

You were shot down by a number of people with your fanboyism in about 2 seconds.

You left that thread you started with your tail between your legs and you tell me to keep trying? Lol!!!

You failed.
