I really don't care either way but get tired of the bashing of Canon for lack of a feature but sing praises of X brand that has the same failure.
Okay, time to step back, take a deep breath, sharpen a pencil and draft yourself a clue, Architect. First of all, did you not understand that the a6400 is not the same class of camera as CaNikon promotes their mirrorless full-frame bodies? Read that again and let it sink in. How many point and shoot cameras or cell phones have dual card slots? None. At the other end of the spectrum, how many pro cameras do? All. In between, how about prosumer or enthusiast cameras? Most, and all should -- yet they were conspicuously absent in the 2nd-gen Sony offerings -- which drew constant complaints -- and they are absent in the CaNikon offerings despite that CaNikon heard all the complaints and should have known better.
Next, I and many other Sony shooters (or "fanboys," a term used regularly by jealous Sony haters) complained about Sony's lack of a second card slot in its second-generation full-frame mirrorless bodies. I think this was a gross oversight, no, miscalculation by Sony.
These complaints did not suddenly begin when CaNikon announced their full-frame mirrorless bodies. Such a characterization is simply disingenuous or obtuse, but either way not at all true. Hell, CaNikon followed Sony on almost everything
including this and other shortcomings of first and second-gen Sony mirrorless bodies.
I am disappointed. I really hoped for something better, some real competition from CaNikon to spur further innovation by Sony, but that hasn't happened. Too bad, and now I expect Nikon's pathetic effort to stop its customers from jumping to Sony will backfire as its customers who had been waiting for a good mirrorless option see that option is not Nikon, but Sony. Canon, on the other hand, will probably produce something much better than its current offerings -- then sit on it and do nothing more for four or five years, allowing its competition to take a couple more leaps ahead.
So sit there and stew if you want to, but don't falsely claim that Sony shooters only now began complaining about the lack of a second card slot. That had been atop or near the top of our wish list for years. Same as a better battery, and Sony listened there, too. Now, Sony is responding to a nearly ubiquitous clamor over lack of a timelapse function by adding that in the April firmware release. Sony innovates, and Sony listens.
