Wow, hardly any votes for #1. I definitely prefer #1 because it gives me the sense that I am speeding down that sloping, curvy road. The decapitated mountains even enhance the feeling of 'falling' though another millimeter of sky wouldn't have hurt that sensation.

The longer portion of straight roadway and the large expanse of sky in #2 just 'feels' a little flat or stationary to me.

I actually like both shots but #1 has an tacit element of action to it (like skiing downhill) while #2 looks more like a typical landscape shot.

I'm with you Salo.

No.1, but it would have been nicer if you hadn't clipped the tops off the Hills in the background.

I'm drawn more to the first one because of the S turn. I like the compression.

My vote goes to the second one for reasons previously stated by others.

Thanks Mike.

My preference is the second image. In the first, something is lost with “chopping off” the top of the mountain. The leading lines in #2 just make me want to continue on to see what’s beyond the mountain.

Thanks for looking, Kay. Number 1 is a different picture I cropped it by zooming in.

I like them both. On first glance i thought #1, but after looking closer there is no sky and the mountain tops are slightly cut off, so now it is a toss up. Is number 1 a crop or really a different pic?
Nice job

I see what you mean. Thanks NMGal.

I like the second, also. The tree (Bush?) on the right is not so prominent.

It does have that feel to it. Thanks Bmac.

Two different views, both enjoyable. I prefer the first for being closer and right on top of that curve. Makes me feel like I am driving the car. Love it!

Thanks Bob and I'll give the less sky a try.

Thanks Longshadow.

The second.

The first "dead ends" me after the second curve.
The second allows me to continue into the image.

The second - curved lines leading to the mountain. It looses something when the hills are cut off.
