Another option, particularly if you wish to sell your images is Smug Mug. You can create a private folder for members of the team with a password available to them only. This way you protect their privacy, which may well be an issue if you post on a public website, they can view the images, or purchase them if they wish at a price set by you. If you want to view my set up see www.givefoto.com. I hope this helps.

If you are in the Adobe CC system with the Lightrooms, there is a way to create "Web Galleries" for groups of images that can be shared using a link. This is an example of some desert walk images from a few weeks ago: https://adobe.ly/2ETIedP

Very nice. Good idea, too. Can the pictures you share via the Web Gallery be downloaded and/or printed by those receiving the link?

I have used Shutterfly for that same purpose with my grandkids' sport teams. It works very well. I always gave my images to the kids/parents, ... I photographed basketball, baseball, volleyball & soccer. You can configure privacy settings so that images may be downloaded. https://www.shutterfly.com/nav/signedOutShare.sfly

Good luck!

I take all the pictures at family events and upload into our family group on Shutterfly. They have to accept the “invitation” to join the group from the one who creates this site. Then they can view and print the pictures. Works quite well.

I use Amazon Prime to back up all of my photos in full resolution. You can create individual albums that can be shared with anyone even if they don’t have Amazon Prime.

I have also used Dropbox which works well. Facebook also is an option as someone mentioned, except you lose a bunch of resolution with Facebook’s compression of photos.

I would NOT recommend Amazon Prime. Yes, it’s free; BUT the thumbnails are so small that you can’t see the pictures very well.

Grandma,

You control what you want and can turn controls on and off. As I post, I've turned on all the options. You can now see more about the camera, settings and a map. The download link is also now turned on. There is a place for viewers to leave comments.

Greetings, I have used Google photos for quite a while and it works very well. It allows you to share across all of your platforms easily. I use it for small groups and I'm not sure how it would function with large groups but it seems to be much easier than Flickr which is what I used to use.

I also use Google Photos and have found it easy to use and for others to access.

Here is some homework for you "TRAVLR38!" https://www.techlicious.com/guide/best-photo-sharing-sites/

Although Flickr has changed its allowable data limits to 1000 free photos with further data requiring a $49 annual fee it still is the one to beat...

Cheers!

Hi, all!
I need advice. I have been taking photographs of the basketball games at my local college. After a couple of years doing this, I have gotten results that, although they may not be up to pro level, nonetheless satisfy me.

I would like to share my better images with the players. I need a program where they can not only look at the pictures, but also might be able to download them and print them on their own.

What is the best and simplest to use program I can get for this job?

Additionally, I have no interest in selling the images. I am happy to give them away to the players and coaches. Are there any legal issues I should worry about?

Thanks in advance for input.

Thanks, I think. I already have a Flickr account. But I would only want some (sports pictures) to be downloaded, not everything I have ever posted over the last six years. And I would want them to be downloaded in a size that could be printed, say a 5x7. Can this be done from Flickr?

I tried this and I must be doing something wrong because you can only see one picture at a time.

Get a FREE Google Drive account, make a folder for these pictures, set it for OPEN TO ALL access and email them all the link (or post it somewhere - maybe even with a QR code). They only need their browser/phone to view and download the photos.

Many thanks. As for now this seems to be the simplest method.

I created a FB page and had the coach send out an email to the parents letting them know about it.

This is fine as long as you realize that all photos on FB are thumbnails, whether copied from a post or from a message. Knowing this and to discourage misuse I usually just post photos of ~100KB.

I use SmugMug for higher definition viewing and sharing.
