With a nod to the mandarin duck, the wood duck must come in at least second in the duck beauty contest. It has been a good winter for wood ducks here in the Seattle area. These are a few of my best wood duck shots this season. I hope you enjoy them. All shots were taken with a Nikon D500 and a Tamron 150X600MM G2 lens. The shutter speed varied between 1/1000 and 1/2000 depending on the available light. ISO varied between 800 and 1600.

An excellent set saxman71! They are indeed wonderful creatures.

Thanks to all of you who have taken a look at these shots and a special thanks to those who left a note. I've had fun photographing these birds this winter and am happy I was able to share a few of them here on UHH (a wonderful photography forum).
