I have been going through my late father's genealogical records and old photographs and made this arrangement with the old family Bible. This has 4 or 5 generations of my dad's family in photos. I can look at my grandfather and see my dad. I can look in a mirror and see a little of both of them.

Family history is always interesting for me but most seem not to be interested till they get old. Lot of memories in going through your ancestors past.

A unique image, A10. I think it would make an interesting set if you posted some of the items separately, i.e the Bible with a couple pictures and a few pictures in another view.

Yep. I'm in the process of re-photographing hundreds of old B&W family photographs. The job would go a lot faster if I could just take the shot and move on to the next, but that's not the way it's going.

Thanks for looking. Some of photography is still sharp and wonderful after 100+ years. Must have been taken with 4X5 or 5X7.

You are SO lucky. I started my quest several years ago, learned such amazing things about both sides of my family, but I can get to barely 3 generations and no photos at all!

I totally agree, I can get lost for hours on end looking through our old family photo"s, fascinating to study.

One of the most beautiful and touching family photos I’ve ever seen. Truly a labor of love on your part.

Katydid, sorry you are having trouble with tracing plus no photos. There have been photographers in my family since the 1850's. My grandfather had a studio for a time and took his own engagement photo, upper right couple in photo.

Genealogy is a fascinating subject.
I formed an opinion recently: We have no say in coming into this world, we have no say in how we depart this world.
We have to do as we're told in between. About sums it up??
