I like the touches of color in the tall grass.

Thank you. I appreciate you stopping to take a look.

Very nice. You had the eye to catch the right light.
It is a simple, outstanding capture.

Thank you so much. I am trying to be more conscious of the light.

I like the side or back lighting a lot. It also makes the grass pop for the background. I would like to see more space on both sides. If you were too close to do so, than two or three shots stitched together into a panorama might work very nicely. Final note. I would like to see the grass sharper than what it is. If this were a post-Impressionist painting, I would say fine but for a photograph, I prefer sharper for this particular scene.

Thanks for posting.

I have some more distant shots I need to work on. I think I want those to be a little sharper. With this shot I wanted a more dreamy look so I reduced the clarity. It also brings out the glow. Thanks for your comments. I will post some of the others when I am done.

Never have a problem getting down. I can always fall. It is the getting up that is the hard part. Just saying. . .

Getting back up was my major concern. There was nothing to grab onto there and I was too far away from the house for anyone to hear me. I didn't want to miss dinner sitting on the cold ground. If I would eat less dinner I probably wouldn't have that issue. Such a conundrum!

Delightful textures and wonderful colors… reminds me of a painter’s work… can’t think of his name… but you have an interesting image… I just don’t know where to look… the grass- while very cool- doesn’t have a specific purpose… and the background- equally gorgeous- doesn’t add to the conversation. In short, it’s a great setting but there’s no story.
The left half offers tonal variations- which I like- I sense multiple pair of grass clumps marching two by two. Maybe, by aerial and size perspective, the grass clumps could suggest themselves to be marching in circles- a field marshaling? After all, who knows what grass does when it’s not being watched? I do like the tones, textures and colors- very nice.

I won't make suggestions for improvement, as I think it's a lovely image. I worked for years to do a series of images to celebrate grasses. It's not as easy as one might think. I believe you have a really good start here. I agree with Linda that a series would be quite nice. I worked on isolated shoots a lot, so that would be one suggestion as an additional image.

Thank you for the comments. I was trying to give it a bit of an impressionistic style. To me the story is about the light on the grass. Some may disagree and think you should have a more defined subject and for some things I agree. Sometimes though there is beauty in a putting that subject into context with the the larger world around it. I think the light looks better with the darker background of the trees in contrast and the next sound you don't hear will be a tree falling in the forest.

Thank you so much. That sounds like a really interesting project. We have a lot of grass here in Texas from huge prairies to wetlands. Different seasons, different looks. I really like that idea!
