same here been using it for years
I'd say that somebody missed taking their meds this morning. Eh?
My wife "bricked" her Canon ink jet printer (dye inks) by purchasing cheap inks. With the offers of free photo paper (that I use in my Canon Pixma Pro-10), the cheap inks are not worth it. $400.00 printer in the trash for $45 worth of ink cartridges? False economy. Just my 35500 cents (printer cost vs the in costs). Others may have different experiences, just my opinion. Nothing but OEM ink for me from here on out.

It depends. I do ~1,000 prints each Christmas season (8x8, B&W) that I give away in books to family members. The first year with my Pro-10s I kept track of each OEM cartridge used and came up with an ink cost per print of $0.676. The next year I switched to Precision Colors inks and came up with an ink cost per print of $0.090. At a savings of ~58 cents/print and ~1,000 prints, the first year using third party ink saved ~$580, which is WAY more than the cost of a replacement printer. (They're frequently on sale in the $400s, after discounts and rebates.)
Of course I didn't have to replace the printer(s), never having had so much as a single clogged nozzle. And I'm most of the way through the second season with equal savings. So for my application, I would be crazy NOT to continue using the Precision Colors inks. (I used third party gray inks in Epson printers for years before I got the Canons, so resetting cartridge chips and filling cartridges has always been part of the printing process for me - it's not an additional burden, which it might be for someone who always used filled carts before.
