Thanks Bob, that answered my question and was along my train of thought. Once someone gets a handle on the Zone system a lot of things come to "Light" or make sense..

Back in the film days, I was school trained to place shadows in zone III. Just accepted loss of very fine detail in shadow area was due to limits of film/developer to get deep rich blacks with detail. Retraining my brain to zone IV. Thanks for taking the time to share this with fellow photogs. It is so much easier to use sliders in PS than to be going back and forth from the converted bedroom and bathroom. Haven't used stop bath and fixer as a cologne in a long time.

If you miss it that much I still have both, no longer have to work in the bathroom at night after everyone else had gone to bed. Film was fun but on second thought it sure wasn't a cheap date.
