Love this post Corky, gives me a real feel for your Sunday snowfall. The Pileated woodpecker shots are great.....mmmm grubs!
Many thanks, Phil and very glad that you like, and love hearing from you and always think of you when witnessing the great flocks of our water related birds whether on TV or in person ---such amazing occurrences!...It seems like I'm very fortunate as something special seems to happen around here every few months or so with very little effort on my part, such as sighting this pileated woodpecker drilling on the old stump searching for food. I was watchig some mallards swimming and feeding along the shoreline when all of a sudden I noticed this up and down motion of what I suspected was a squirrel flicking its tail, but on close inspection realized that it was the woodpecker hammering on the base of the stump. It sure makes you wonder how many things like this we miss each day. Thanks again and hope you and your family have a great holiday season and take care.
Swamp Cork, Thank you kindly for the good wishes. I also wish you and yours the best for the holidays and the New Year. May the year be filled with good health, happiness and great memories!
Thanks, Val and I hear them almost every day, and they are very shy but make an appearance from time to time while hunting for grubs and other fairly large ants and such. Hope you guys are fine and regards to Woody and Blue. Corky
