(No quotes, no references - strictly anecdotal - from someone who at one time was not by any means a "casual" smoker)

So ... some of what M. Pavich states as "good" reasons why it is OK to smoke and drive can be used to bolster *my* personal reasons for not liking the stuff. If someone wishes to smoke and *not* drive, I am all for "decriminalization" (which isn't quite legalization), but I really don't want them on the road with me.

When I was driving for a living (80,000 gvw requires almost thinking several moves ahead just as chess does - or taking a "wow" picture), it was easy to tell when someone was drunk, primarily because of their erratic actions, and when someone was high, because of their slower vehicles and slower reactions. Of course, now either one of those scenarios (especially the latter) could mean that the driver is texting - and almost as dangerous.

IMHO

I guess the obvious question is; how could you know?

Sure, you could see someone was weaving or speeding or whatever, but how could you KNOW what the cause was?

You couldn't.

You could take a guess but really..someone isn't doing the speed limit so you KNOW that they are stoned?

There are folks on the road driving after smoking pot who are driving just fine...the statistics show it; they are careful drivers and according to the National Transportation Safety Administration they get in no more accidents than folks who have done nothing before driving.

Because I recognize your statement (That ongoing and sustained of pot caused a mental imbalance and lack of choices that are not conducive to correct decisions.) as false...that's why.

I don't need to know everything there is to know to know when you spout something patently untrue and uninformed.

How do know it's false??? All you care about is what supports your belief.

Uhh...25,000 studies in the last 50 years?

LOTS of investigation?

Homework?

Just because you assert it (or saw it in the Reefer Madness movie) doesn't make it a fact.

One must know your limits an medicate accordingly. Ever hear of a pinch hitter. Which amouts to about two drags.

Drinkers most time can't stop at a couple. Far more serious

Probably, however, this state has not made MJ medical or recreational legal and I see this activity all the time. And most of these times it is because of the smartphone taking the drivers alertness away from his or her driving. Symptoms are the same.

Do something about that! Until then I am not worrying about the pot smoker.
