I'll give that a try.

Senior citizens are constantly being criticized for every conceivable deficiency of the modern world, real or imaginary. We know we take responsibility for all we have done and do not try to blame others.

HOWEVER, upon reflection, we would like to point out that it was NOT senior citizens who took:

The melody out of music,

The pride out of appearance,

The courtesy out of driving,

The romance out of love,

The commitment out of marriage,

The responsibility out of parenthood,

The togetherness out of the family,

The learning out of education,

The service out of patriotism,

The Golden Rule from rulers,

The nativity scene out of cities,

The civility out of behavior,

The refinement out of language,

The dedication out of employment,

The prudence out of spending,

The ambition out of achievement or

God out of government and school.

And we certainly are NOT the ones who eliminated patience and tolerance from personal relationships and interactions with others!

And, we DO understand the meaning of patriotism, and remember those who have fought and died for our country.

Just look at the Seniors with tears in their eyes and pride in their hearts, as they stand at attention as the American or Canadian Flag passes by in a parade!

YES, I'M A SENIOR CITIZEN!

I'm the life of the party..... even if it lasts until 8 p.m.

I'm very good at opening childproof caps….. with a hammer.

I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up.

I'm smiling all the time, because I can't hear a thing you're saying.

I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere.

I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

No, many things listed were done while the oldsters were youngsters. The world belongs to the young. What they do with depends on how we handled it while we were young. Time passes, ideas and philosophies change. If they had not, we would still be worshipping rocks. We are responsible for how our young view the world.

FYI My pharmacy will give you your prescriptions with a non-child proof cap. However, unless you have no small children visiting (ever) I would not recommend it.

Ours, Publix pharmacies, has a reversible top, one is child proof, the other is for seniors.

Turn that music down.

Why is it that those who play their music the loudest have the worst taste in music???

Agree completely! I avoided the draft to serve 12 years in the US Navy as a General Medical Officer, Flight Surgeon (Keflavik Iceland, Atsugi Japan, 7th Fleet), and Diagnostic Radiologist (NRMC Camp Pendelton). Todays youngsters don't have a clue and I pray to God that they don't live to see a Totalitarian State in the Northern Hemisphere.

But of course when you get the prescription, it's the child proof top that's delivered. You have to master that before you can use the senior top.

I don’t think anybody here should apologize for being older.
The post shows what has changed. For the better? really!
A selfish egotistical lazy society staring at cell phones and walking into people.
Give me a break. I can ride a bike for a few miles. I am a producer and shoot
Pretty good video/stills. Have met a President. Run my own businesses for years.
Worked with homeless, first responders, disabled children charities.
Helped my 2 children and helped raise 3 of my 5 grandchildren.
Visited or worked in 30 countries. Taking care of an ill wife.
Mentored many creatives to start their careers.
The seniors I know are smart and dedicated people.
Unlike the greedy senior citizen in DC
who doesn’t care about the country only
His own wealth and ego.

Right on!
Years ago I put up one of my guns (so the kids would not find it); can't find it to this day!

I did that years ago, then it turned up. After that I bought a gun safe, now they are all in the same place. Now all I have to do is remember the combination.

At my age, there's no question of remembering the combination to things like that.
What I really have to do is remember where I put the piece of paper I wrote it on.
