Personally, I'd prefer the Christmas spirit all year round. The repeated Christmas music to which we're subjected from the Friday after Thanksgiving through Christmas Day gets a bit much.

Just a thought.
Is it Happy Hour yet?

I try to get my fill of the "assault" daily. The more the merrier. It seems to brighten the day because of my knowledge and understanding of music. I would think a lack of knowledge and understanding would prompt a message like the OP, but that's me. Would love to listen to it throughout the year.
I’ll gladly listen to Christmas music year round as long as it is performed by the Trans Siberian Orchestra!

Be happy you can HEAR Christmas music, or any music for that matter. I can't.

It drives me nuts. I don't mind Bach, Handel, Verdi, most classical. (Most of the popular stuff is so trite. Listening to a lot to songs that only have three to four chord changes could damage your brain forever. The Little Drummer Boy has now lowered my inadequate IQ to even lower levels. I am concerned that I may get a drool cloth for Christmas.) Yes, a little of pop at Christmas is OK, Just not all day long every hour, every minute.
One of my favorite Christmas songs is "Mary's Boy Child" by Bony M. It is sung to a calypso beat. The Nutcracker Suite is another. However, the commercial choices of non-Christian Christmas songs is tiring. Many get burned out on those Christmas songs by Dec. 15 at the latest.

Love Trans Siberian orchestra and of course Twisted Sister Christmas album.
The other day I had a Christmas song stuck in my head. It wasn't one of the beautiful compositions celebrating the season. It was "last Christmas I gave you my heart. The very next day, you gave it away."
No. Just say no to dopey pop songs that someone wrote to sell a Christmas album.

AWWW.....I saw mama kissin' Santa Clause, You better watch out, you better not shout, etc., were two classics of my youth. Not exactly Silent Night, however.
By the way, having studied Green in seminary, I know exactly what the X in Xmas is supposed to stand for, but if you going to do that, make the Greek chi. Besides, it's diminishes the term.
Few people are forced to listen to any sort of music. There are some types music that I don't care for, so I don't listen. Life goes on.
