Unless it's ancient or incredibly low-end, it will likely handle two monitors. Look at the back and see what video connections there are. On my elderly system, I have one output for the newer style of output, and one for the older D style connector.
WORKS GREAT!
Lower resolution on the
old "square" monitor, but totally workable!
(Now I want a higher res monitor for the primary.
)
Only hiccup was that it stuck all my icons to the left when the computer booted. I had them organized in certain groups.
(Should have saved the desktop!)
I had to re-arrange the cables for the monitors. The old one (DVI/VGA) was used as VGA, the new one does HDMI/VGA. Old one is now DVI, new is VGA on the DVI-VGA adapter.)
Thanks guys, much obliged for the info!

Very handy for editing - tools menu(s) and maybe file explorer on the low res and editing window on the high res primary.

Yes.
Also the genealogy tree on the wider, documents on the square.
Another neat thing, it (windows) remembers what monitor the application was last used on.
Opens Roots Magic on the wide display. No need to move and re-size each time I open it.
