These are beautiful images. It must be a thrill to hold that bird in your hand.

While ALL of your images are beautiful, (and clean,) a few are STUNNING and in my opinion belong in publications such as National Geographic as they tell a story and are also cultural. OF COURSE THEY MIGHT EVEN WIN A FEW PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTESTS AWARDS AS WELL...

quote=gunflint]Here are a few more images from our trip to Mongolia this September. I appreciate all the great feedback from you!

1,2,3 are photos of different eagle hunters
4 is Aisholpan Nurgaiv, "The Eagle Huntress"
5 is a fun event at the festival where a man and a woman is in a horse race where she beats him with a stick. It is all in fun and they usually kiss at the end.
6 is my favorite eagle hunter in full fur hunting clothes mounted on his horse
7 our camp at Khoton Khurgan Lakes
8 early morning at our Ger in the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains, just before my horse ride into the mountains (about 10 degrees outside)

Enjoy...Dave

Thanks for showing a part of the world we never would have seen. Showing their activities and explaining them adds to the viewing pleasure. Thanks so very much for sharing your adventure!

gorgeous pics, and I'd love to see in person but I don't think I could camp in such cold. Do they hunt in warmer weather? And amen to the Nat Geo comparison: great framing, lighting, everything.

No they only hunt in the extreme winter because they ride their horses till they see fox tracks then watch across valley till they see one and let the eagle go.
