While ALL of your images are beautiful, (and clean,) a few are STUNNING and in my opinion belong in publications such as National Geographic as they tell a story and are also cultural. OF COURSE THEY MIGHT EVEN WIN A FEW PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTESTS AWARDS AS WELL...
quote=gunflint]Here are a few more images from our trip to Mongolia this September. I appreciate all the great feedback from you!
1,2,3 are photos of different eagle hunters
4 is Aisholpan Nurgaiv, "The Eagle Huntress"
5 is a fun event at the festival where a man and a woman is in a horse race where she beats him with a stick. It is all in fun and they usually kiss at the end.
6 is my favorite eagle hunter in full fur hunting clothes mounted on his horse
7 our camp at Khoton Khurgan Lakes
8 early morning at our Ger in the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains, just before my horse ride into the mountains (about 10 degrees outside)
Enjoy...Dave[/quote]

Prize quality photographs. As good as it gets. Nice to see a Bactrian Camel in it's own environment.
I agree the pride and happiness shows thru. But, the camel is still the most butt-ugly animal in the world. Glad they get some use out of it!

The Bactrian may have been there for the comic relief....or the contrast.
At the least, one has less worry about falling asleep and falling off on the trail, as opposed to being on a dromedary.

Fantastic captures of an area I know nothing about but would love to explore - my health allowing.
You have really captured the culture and vibrancy of the area excellently. I am surprised to see a camel in the last shot.
Pardon my ignorance but I thought camels only existed in the desert not in snow.
Yes, they use camels in the mountains for pack animals, and I think even milk. Also, southern Mongolia has the Gobi desert.
Fantastic post very interesting.
