I sold my nikkormat and f2 and several lenses and bought a D3400 kit last year. I take far too many photos on digital and have trouble getting down to an acceptable number. That is really my "complaint." I have almost my complete darkroom packed up in my basement, including a vintage Nikon enlarge lens. I would love to find it a good home for it.

There are a few foibles. I have found. The lock gets in my way often. I have no idea why it moves, apparently on its own. But once you get used to it, it is easy enough to fix. I also find that the camera "stalls" and I have to turn it off then on again. Sometimes it takes longer to focus than it should. I use tear button focusing mostly single point, and sometimes find the target moves on its own. Luckily you can see a diagram on the led and move it with the toggle.

Rick, I’ve owned my d3400 for about 11 months now. Wonderful camera and great images. Learning curve is not too steep but has enough features to make things interesting. Same processor and sensor as D7200. Best of luck!!
