You're in better shape than I am, for sure. I'm just estimating the number of times you had to go up and down that ladder.

It feels like having run a marathon with heart rate up, sweat in freezing weather, and soreness and fatigue at the end of each day doing it.
PS the ladder weighs a ton and is a real pain to move as well.

Beautiful display, but you made me nervous looking at you on the 40' ladder. I'm not old, but at 71, I don't do that anymore. Now I hire someone younger to do all the high up things I used to do. Congrats to you.

And my wife would never let me hire that maid to do anything.

Merry Christmas to you and the thousands that come to see your fabulous display.

Thank you.
We try every year to hire for the high lights and can't get anyone to do it. Sometimes we get a promise then they don't show up and we are scrambling to get a ladder and get the lights up. If we weren't on a terraced hill but a flatlander like the houses around us I would get a cherry picker but there is no access to the front or side of the house as it is set back too far.
Too bad about the maid, she is a pretty good cook and keeps the house very nice.
Thank you.

I know what you mean. We live 7 miles out of the closest small town, and it is hard to get dependable help. We are lucky to have found some we can depend on.

Yeah, that maid would have been nice to have around.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Steve

Do you handle that ladder by yourself? I have no problem climbing, maneuvering is the problem! And with a limited wingspan....5 ft?...it takes a lot of maneuvering.

I have a neighbor willing to help move the ladder. It is a 2 person proposition.
