I love the composition. I assume he means that the Watchman is the focal point, but it's a small part of the image, but who knows. He sounds like sour grapes. I like the leading lines of the river, and the side mountains pointing in and down. The bridge is a great vantage point and I don't think there's one better for that shot, even if it is popular. I'd bet that of the myriad of shots taken around there, yours is "top-shelf" due to the timing, lighting, composition, etc. You took the time and effort to be there, compose the shot, executed it and did the postprocessing. Well done. It's frame-able. Don't let some curmudgeon's comments dampen your spirits.

Many thanks for your response here OneShot1. I don't think Duane had any ill will in his comments, he just agreed with FStoppers position...he even mentioned he would probably stop and take a photo here. He just wishes we would find our own "icons" and stay away from the crowd favorites. Anyhow, the elements of this scene are powerful for photography...the diagonals of the mountainsides, the Virgin River leading your eye to the Watchman and the muted fall colors and, if you get the beautiful evening light playing on the mountainside, you have caught a beautiful memory!!
